LIFE IN CIRCUSES
LIFE IN CIRCUSES
Animals aren’t actors, spectacles to imprison and gawk at, or circus clowns. Yet, thousands of these animals are forced to perform silly, confusing tricks under the threat of physical punishment; are carted across the country in cramped and stuffy boxcars or semi-truck trailers; are kept chained or caged in barren, boring, and filthy enclosures; and are spearated from their families and friends- all for the sake of human «entertainment». Many of these animals even pay with their lives. Also in circuses trainers use whips, thight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bullhooks and other painful tool of the trade to force animals to perform tricks. Even more tigers naturally fear fire, but they are still forced to jump through fire hoops in some circuses.
On average, circuses travel about 48 weeks per year. And circus animals spend an average of 26 hours in cages during the transport.
Virtually, 96% of circus animal’s life is spent in chains or cages.
